Herman Rube Davis, 73, of Yukon, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born June 10, 1938, in Sasakwa, OK, a son of the late Benjamin and Annie (Tucker) Davis. Herman served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He married Portia (Hoppis) on March 30, 1963 in Colorado Springs, CO, sharing 48 years of marriage. Herman was a member of the First Baptist Church, Yukon, OK. He was a General Motors forklift operator.
He is survived by his wife, Portia of the home; daughter, Jennifer Huffmaster and husband Jeff of Montgomery, TX; three granddaughters, Coral Huffmaster, Cara Huffmaster and Miranda Davis; two brothers, Kenneth Davis and wife Darlene of Oklahoma City and James Davis and wife Alene of Holdenville, OK; and one sister, Helen Pittman of LaVergne, TN. In addition to his parents, Herman is also preceded in death by his son, Brian Davis, six brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The American Cancer Society, 6525 N. Meridian Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, Yukon, with a private interment.
