Enlisted March 1, 1862 at Camp Bartow, near Savannah, GA. He was wounded at the battle of Fredericksburg Dec. 13, 1862. He was in his unit until the surrender at Appomattox in April of 1865.

Funeral Thursday Of W.F.A. Dickerson

Funeral services for W.F.A. Dickerson, 86, Confederate veteran who died Wednesday morning at the home of his son, J.W. Dickerson, 215 East Point avenue, East Point, will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the home. Rev. Joseph A. Crumbley and the Rev. E.W. Jones will officiate and interment will be in Stone Mountain cemetery.
In addition to his son, Mr. Dickerson is survived by another son, H.C. Dickerson, of Clarkston, and a sister, Mrs. Corry McManus, of Atlanta.

Dickerson – The friends of Mr. W.F.A. Dickerson, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Dickerson, of East Point; Mr. and Mrs. M.H. Dickerson, of Clarkston, and Mrs. Corry McManus, of Atlanta, are invited to attend the funeral of Mr. W.F.A. Dickerson this (Thursday) afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home, 215 East Point avenue, East Point, Ga. Dr. Joseph A. Crumbly, assisted by Rev. E.W. Jones, will officiate. Interment will be at Stone Mountain cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and please meet at the residence at 12:45 o'clock: Messrs. Hubert Dickerson, James Britt, Ezra Britt, Claud Jones, Roy Graves and Willie Wilkerson. Howard L. Carmichael, funeral director.
