Juanita W. Taylor, 83, of Georgetown, died on Monday, January 23, 2006.

She was born on June 22, 1922, in Jarrell to George Whitfield and Otha (Owens) Whitfield.

Ms. Taylor was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. She married Harry Lay Taylor, Jr. on October 21, 1951, in Georgetown. She was a homemaker and a beautician, working for Eunice Mott at Mott’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of the First Assembly of God.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Mullin of Groves, Texas, and Rita Walls and husband Robert of Georgetown; her son, Harry Taylor and wife Carolyn of Canyon, Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer Shumpert-Reese and husband Jonathan of Weatherford, Oklahoma; grandsons, Jason Shumpert of Groves, Bradley Taylor and wife Elise of Canyon, and Jared Taylor of Canyon; sisters, Georgia Murray, and Pauline Barker and husband Joe; brother, G.W. Whitfield; brother-in-law, Windle Taylor; sister-in-law, Allene Jacobs and husband Charlsie.

Visitation was held on January 25, 2006 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held on January 26, 2006 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Anthony VanNoy officiating. Burial followed at Berry’s Creek Cemetery.
