Norma F. McNair, 87, of the 1700 block of Oakfield Ave., a retired seamstress, died July 30, 1993, in Camelot Hall Nursing Home.

She was born in Wayne County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Foster, and the widow of Mr. Joseph McNair. She was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ in Norfolk and a former member of the United Order of Tents W.N.G.P.S.M., a member of the Campostella Civic League and she also served as president of the Garland Pretlow Senior Citizens Club of Campostella.

Survivors include four daughters, Ruby Garfield of Greensboro, N.C., Ruthie Wallace and Eula Lankford, both of Norfolk, and Norma Rich of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Clara Leach of Lumberton, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Mavis McNair of Virginia Beach; one son, Joseph F. McNair of Virginia Beach; three sons-in-law, James Godfield of Greensboro, Rudolph Wallace of Norfolk and Theodore Rich of Virginia Beach; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in St. Mark United Church of Christ, Norfolk, by the Rev. Harry Davis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 500 Liberty St., Chesapeake, Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church Wednesday at 10a.m.
