Travis O. Karcher, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Estelle Rebenack Karcher for over 66 years. Devoted father of Travis Jr., Theresa A., Kevin P.(Tara) and Mark A. Karcher. Son of the late Bertha Wendling Karcher Lessing and Oscar R. Karcher. Loving grandfather of Katherine Lemoine (Barry), Kristy McWilliams (Kenny) and Jenna M. Karcher.
Travis was a native New Orleanian and a proud World War II U.S. Navy Air Corp Veteran. After military service he worked as a Borden Dairy supervisor for 37 years. In addition to his family, Travis greatly loved gardening, fishing and was a diehard supporter of the Tulane football program. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, September 17, 2012. Burial with military honors followed in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
