Tobitha (Toby) Jo Satow, 50, of McFarland, W.Va., passed away Sept. 15, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, after a 15-month courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 13, 1962 in Parkersburg, the daughter of Joe and Ruth Ellison of Palestine, W.Va. She graduated from Parkersburg South High School in 1980 and attended West Virginia University at Parkersburg for two years. She formerly was employed at the Red Roof Inn and K-Mart of Parkersburg. She enjoyed family, genealogy, photography, crocheting and making quilts. She was a member of the Elizabeth Church of Christ.
Toby is survived by her parents; three sons, Andrew (Ricole), Matthew (Meagan) and Daniel (Stephanie); five grandchildren, Kyle, Sydney, Rydder, Cyllie and Treyton Satow; a brother, Curtis L. Ellison of Palestine; a niece, Amanda (Andy) Wayne; a great-nephew, Michael; and a great-niece, Emma Wayne; her companion of eight years, Terry Rollins; the Rollins family; and many friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Volga Gates of Palestine; and paternal grandparents, Emory and Hazel Ellison.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, with the Rev. Eugene Conger and the Rev. Lester Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery Thorn Addition.
