Vernon Robert Kammerdiener, 74, of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in Black Lick. A son of William and Anna (Hensel) Kammerdiener, he was born Feb. 25, 1938, in Armstrong County. He had worked for Pullman-Standard, Butler, and most recently he worked at Blairsville Bi-lo until its closing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always driving them to wherever they wanted to go. Surviving are eight children, Robert Kammerdiener and his wife, Shirley, of Blairsville, Buddy Kammerdiener, of Indiana, Katherine Good and her husband, Goody, of Ford City, Connie Zimmerman, of Emlenton, Sandy Atherton and her husband, Denny, of Kittanning, Judy Kammerdiener, of Kittanning, Vicki Walker, of Kittanning, and Tracy Lohr and her husband, John, of Black Lick; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five siblings, Carl Kammerdiener, of Templeton, John Kammerdiener and his wife, Barb, of Templeton, Dorothy Chiocco, of Erie, Clarabelle Troup Duham, of Kittanning, and Florence Kensky, of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Una Jean (Robinson) Kammerdiener, in 1988; a daughter, Debbie Kammerdiener; and four siblings, Bill, Clarence, Lavina Polock and Nellie Kovar. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME INC., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
