LONGVIEW — Our mother, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend, Ada Helen Wieber Coker, 92, left this earth Saturday evening, September 15, 2012, to join our heavenly Father and many departed friends and family.

Gerald D. Coker Sr., her husband of 57 years, preceded her in death in 2001.

Born July 29, 1920, Ada witnessed joys and survived losses with a constant and amazing strength of character and will. She is especially remembered for her kindness, joyous smile, laughter and positive attitude.

Ada and her husband owned and operated the Coker & Wieber Grocery on Highway 80 in Greggton from 1948-57. Ada was later employed by L.E. Myers as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1977. She was very active in the St. Anthony's and St. Mary's Catholic churches.

She is survived by her children, Marcia Nivens and husband, David, of Denver, Colo., Gerald Coker Jr. of Hawkins, Jean Baker and husband, Jim, of Houston, and Dr. Anita Myers and husband, Brooks, of Houston. Ada is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Cook of New York and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Veterans Section, 5000 W. Harrison Road in Longview.
