Ambrose H. Seyller Sr., 79, of Hampshire died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Elgin. He was born July 28, 1921, in Burlington, the son of Walter W. and Marie K. (Weber) Seyller.
He was a graduate of Burlington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, attaining the rank of first lieutenant in the 109th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Unit. This unit participated in the Invasion of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and the release of the prisoners at the Dachau concentration camp.
Following his time in the service, he married Rita Rose Schiesher on Jan. 14, 1948, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire.
Seyller operated a dairy farm for more than 50 years and was a longtime sales representative for Pioneer Seed Corn, a lifetime member of the FFA Alumni and a member of the Kane County Farm Bureau
