We know he was born between 1835 and 1840 and died before 1850, son of Charles Marsh and Rebecca Jarvis. The death date of the tombstone appears to have been vandalized. On a recent visit (18 Aug 2015) I was able to read Oct 29th and a "2" at what may be last digit of death year. Death year was confirmed from "Ester Weygoadt Powell, compiler, Tombstone Inscriptions & Family Records of Belmont County, Ohio (: Ohio Genealogical Society,), page 44."
