The youngest child of Anthony Paul Paynic, Sr. and Frances A. Kezele, "Rosie" graduated from Roxana High School in Roxana, Madison County, Illinois in 1952.

Her father ran a shoe repair shop in Wood River, Illinois. Rosie's brother, George Paynic, founded Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, Madison County, Illinois on 01 Jan 1955.

Rosie married a fellow Class of 1952 Roxana graduate, Eldon Manning Bowler, on 05 Aug 1955 at the rectory of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wood River. Jeanne Stewart and George Paynic were their attendants.

Rosie worked in the Broadway office of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation at the time of their marriage. She was a homemaker, and they were the parents of 2 children.

Eldon worked for the Granite City Steel Company. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. After receiving his discharge from the service, he returned to the steel mill.

He retired as a maintenance supervisor in 1992 after 37 years of service. During his retirement years, he worked for Paynic Home for Funerals and for Fine Funeral Homes.

Rosie was a member of the Women of the Moose, Wood River Post 1349. Eldon also belonged to the Moose lodge.

Rosie died 23 days before her 72nd birthday at her home in Godfrey following a long battle with cancer. She was survived by her husband, Eldon; 1 daughter and son-in-law, of Tempe, Arizona; 1 son of Godfrey, Illinois; 1 sister, Julia Paynic; 2 brothers, Steve and George Paynic; and 1 sister-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by 1 sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Otto Eich; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Edward Paynic, Father Richard Paynic, and Anthony and Joyce Paynic.

Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on 17 Aug 2006 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. A Women of the Moose service took place at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, Illinois.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Heartland Hospice Program.
