The family then moved to Bloomfield Montana where he served as pastor from 1943 to 1955.They moved to Winton California where George pastored the Winton Mennonite Church, and the family also operated an almond orchard. They also served in Mennonite Voluntary service, and he pastored the Danvers Mennonite Church.
