Mrs. Harper was born in Rhinelander September 2, 1890. The former Bertha Evans came to this area as a young girl with her parents, settled in Walsh and has resided in this area since.
She married William Harper on December 26, 1909 in Menominee, Michigan. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Woodrow {Jean} Storey of Peshtigo and Mrs. Harry {Helen} Patnode of Tacoma, Washington.
Four sons: William Weber of Milwaukee; John, Omer and Grant of Peshtigo; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two half sisters: Mrs. Lloyd Poquette and Mrs. Frank Haubert of Peshtigo; brothers: Clifford Evans of Chicago; half brothers: John W. Scott and Francis Rasberry of Green Bay.
Mrs. Harper was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Christian Mothers, the Legion of Mary, Royal Neighbors of America and the Women's Relief Corps.
Upon the death of her husband, she assumed management of the Harper and Sons Coal Company. She retired and sold her interest in the company to her sons Omer and John in 1958.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Bujarski officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Harper Funeral Home from 2 pm Wednesday until the hour of services.
