Alonzo, his parents, and his brothers were among the pioneer settlers of Dundee which he renamed after his ancestral land when he become its first postmaster. He served in several capacities in that town and during his later years lived a few years with his daughter Ursula Osborne in Pennsylvania.

His first wife was Jerusha Gifford. They had several children, and tragically most of them died in infancy and were buried in Oak Grove Cemetery. Three survived nto adulthood: Sylvanus Dunham Curtis, Ursula Wright Osborne, and Alonzo H. Curtis.

His second wife was Elizabeth Lutz, daughter of Philip Lutz. There were no children in this union.

Gravesite Details

It appears that his stone is missing or it may be that next to that of his father Noble, but the top part of the stone is missing. Both his wives and most of his children are buried in this cemetery.
