"C. F. Milburn, pioneer manufacturer, dead. C. F. Milburn, one of the pioneer industrialists of Chattanooga, died last night at his home on Signal mountain after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Milburn came to this city from Toledo, O. in 1896 and organized the Milburn-Bass, Clifford Company which name was soon changed to the Chattanooga Wagon Works.
The other principals associated with Mr. Milburn in this enterprise were the late Maj. J. W. Bass, R. E. Clifford and R. A. Knapp. Mr. Milburn was prominent in the club and business life of the city and continued as the president of the wagon company to the day of his death.
Mr. Milburn was the son of George and Barbara Stauffer Milburn, and was born in Mishawaka, Wisc. in 1854. Besides his wife who was Miss Katherine Knapp, he is survived by one brother, James K. Milburn, nephews George Milburn Studebaker, Clement Studebaker, Charles Milburn Foster, and two nieces, Mrs. Charles Arthur Carlysle and Miss Florence Milburn, all of South Bend, Ind.. One son, Knapp K. Milburn died several years ago.
Funeral arrangements and pallbearers will be announced later."

Katherine and Charles had a son who was born and died on Nov 27, 1893 in Toledo, Ohio.
