Harry Alphonzo Cole was born in Ovid Township Michigan at the home of his paternal Grandmother Esther. As a young man he spent a lot of time with his Mother Ellens Father, Sanford Chamberlin. When he was 12 his parents split up. He spent his time wandering between his parents till he met the love of his life, his wife of almost 75 years, Bertha Groh. Soon thereafter, Grandpa felt called to become a minister. He took the classes and after passing went to work as a minister for the Wesleyan Methodist Church. He spent the next 40 years bringing the Word to his fellow man. He had three children, Doris in 1911, John in 1913 and Ellen in 1920. I met him in 1960. He and I spent many a day on the floor playing with toys and talking. When I was 9, we moved away from Michigan, but I thought of him often.
Grandpa would write me, always telling me about that God had plans for me. I always knew he cared.
In 1987, his son in law, my Grandfather died. It was the last time I saw Grandpa. I remember him fondly to my children and grandchildren. I wait for the day when I will see him again. With Loving thoughts of my Great Grandfather,

Diane
