Herman graduated from North Canton High School in 1939. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1945. He was awarded five Air medals, the African, European, Mediterranean Medal, the Humanitarian Medal, the Victory Medal, and the Ex prisoners of War Medal. He was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V., V.F.W., and the Ex prisoners of War Central Ohio Chapter #8 in Wooster, Ohio. He held several offices in that chapter and was very active in fund raising for the Daisy Days for Prisoners of War which exists to help those who cannot help themselves. In 1988, Herman retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service as a production control specialist. He also maintained a Realtors license for 25 years. He passed peacefully amongst family members at Mercy Medical Center Hospice. Cremation
