Darlington- Funeral services for John J. Boyle, 79, prominent Darlington merchant, were conducted at the Holy Rosary church here today, the Rev. James Nevin officiating.
Born in Ireland, Mr. Boyle came to this county at the age of nine. On June 18, 1883, he married Rose Anna Gallagher of Gratiot, who preceded him in death in 1918.
Surviving are eight children, all of whom were present at the last rites, namely, Attorneys John J. and Wilfred J., also Frank, Bess and Edward of this city; Atty Bernard J. of Omaha, Atty Hugh J. of Norfolk, Neb.; and one sister, Mary O'Toole of Oberlin, Kans.
For many years he owned and operated the Darlington Lumber company.
