Daughter Mary Wickhem

Mrs. John J. Boyle Sr., mother of Rock County Court Judge John J. Boyle Jr. and Mrs. John C. Wickhem of Janesville, died in Rock Haven last night after a long illness. She was 77.
She was born June 2, 1889, in Trinidad, Colo., and was married in 1905 to Emmett Stansell in Raton, N.M. The couple lived in Trinidad until Mr. Stansell died in 1914.
In 1917 she married John J. Boyle, of Darlington, Wis., in Denver. They moved to Madison in 1934 when Mr. Boyle was named United States attorney there. He died in 1944.
Mrs. Boyle was active in civic and political circles both in Madison and throughout the state. She came to Janesville in 1953 and had lived here ever since.
Surviving, besides her son Judge Boyle, and daughter, Mrs. Wickhem, are another daughter, Mrs. Kurt Westphal of Waukesha; three children from her previous marriage, the Rev. Harold Stansell, S.J., Denver; Sister M. Eustacia, St. Louis, and Wilfred Stansell, Houston, and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 am Thursday in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington, where a requiem high Mass will be sung by her son, Father Stansell. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Steil Funeral Home, Darlington, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 pm. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Darlington.
The family prefers donations be made to the Cancer Fund.
