Mrs. Jennie Belle Hamman, of Three Spring, R.D., died Thursday, January 17, 1963, at 10:45 a.m. at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Powell of Hesston, R.D., she had been seriously ill since September of 1962.

She was born June 27, 1874, in Three Springs, R.D., a daughter of George W. and Elizabeth (Painter) Flasher. She was married to Elliott H. Hamman on September 28, 1893, and he preceded her in death in 1944.

The following children survive: Mrs. Sylva Bitner of Altoona, Mrs. John (Golda) Powell of Hesston, R.D., William Hamman of Rockhill Furnace, Mrs. Zane (Hazel) Waite of Rockhill Furnace, Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Cutshall of Mapleton Depot, Marvin Hamman of Mapleton Depot, Lester Hamman of Rockhill Furnace and Paul Hamman of Saxton. Four children preceded her in death. There are 50 grandchildren,78 great- grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Sam Flasher of Three Springs, Albert Flasher of Kimberton, Harry Flasher of Phoenixville and Vinton Flasher of Holsopple.

She was of the EUB faith.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 20, at 2 p.m. from the Ott funeral home in Orbisonia. The Rev. Charles Rhodes of the Three Springs EUB charge will officiate. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7p.m. this evening until the hour for the services on Sunday.

Paul is listed in her obit as Jennie's son, but he was actually her grandson. Paul was the son of Jennie's son Earl and his first wife Laura. Jennie took him and raised him after Laura died in 1922, when he was just a baby.
