Ruth Nance Ouzts, 86, of 131 Lawton Street, widow of Roy Ouzts, died September 20, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Beardon AR, she was a daughter of the late Odie Alexander Nance and Verda Maye Clemmons Nance. Ruth was formerly employed with the Saluda Nursing Center where she was the Activity Director and worked 19 years.
She was in the Sunshine Seniors Club, helped with Piedmont Agency on Aging and in the Red Hat Society-Good Hope Creepers. Ruth was a member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was in the Ever Ready Sunday school class and Women's Ministries. She was preceded in
death by two brothers, Jimmy Nance and Tommy Nance. Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Jerry) Ouzts Forehand of Panama City FL, Gerald (Tonia) Langdon Ouzts of Russellville AR, Roy Milburn Ouzts of Easley SC, Weyman Ouzts, Douglas (Tammy) Ouzts, both of Saluda SC, and Dave Ouzts of Minneapolis MN; two sisters, Evelyn Miller of AR and Lou Norman of Monroe LA; a brother, Calvin Nance of Houston TX; seven grandchildren; seven great grand children Services at South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Harley Funeral Home.
