Washington, April 20, Mrs. Susan Monroe, 52, wife of Lund Washington.
On January 28, 1819, she married Joseph S. MacPherson (1789-1824) in the District of Columbia. He was a Commander of the United States Navy. Her will verified as of September 18, 1873 mentioned the following: daughter, Susan W. Edwards, wife of John S. Edwards; granddaughter, Mary M. Tyler; granddaughter Nannie Rawleigh or Raleigh; grandson, Joseph MacPherson Edwards; great-granddaughter Alice Tyler, daughter of Henry B. Tyler; sister Sally W. Maupin; nephews Chapman Maupin and Robert W. Maupin and deceased brother Peter G. Washington.

MacPherson. On the 12th instant, at the residence of John S. Edwards, No. 24 North Gilmor Street, Mrs. Mary E. MacPherson, relict of the late Captain Joseph S. MacPherson, United States Navy, in the 74th year of her age. (Washington, (D.C.) Cambridge, (Maryland) and Charlottesville (Virginia) papers please copy.) Remains taken to Oak Hill Cemetery, Georgetown, D.C. on the 14th instant for interment.
