March 15, 1928, the eldest child of Noah and Winnie (Hanes) Kingery, who preceded him in death. He was reared in the Carl, IA, and Seymour, MO, area and on April 30, 1949 he married Norma Breazeal in Mountain Home, AR. She preceded
him in death on January 30, 2009. Richard and Norma moved to the Mt. Etna, IA, in 1951 where Richard engaged in farming. He remained a farmer his entire life, proud of the Angus cattle he raised. He farmed in the Nodaway, Brooks, and Afton areas in Iowa, finally moving to the Lucerne, MO, area in 2000. Richard liked horses and enjoyed riding his horses in parades. He was a member of West Liberty Baptist Church in Putnam County, MO, the American Angus Association, and Farm Bureau. Richard had a dry, but enjoyable, sense of humor. He liked to tease and joke with people and will be sadly missed. Richard is survived by a son, Dennis Kingery and his wife Sue, of Salem, IA. Two granddaughters also survive, Dawnelle McClure and her husband Mike of Davenport, IA, and Kimberly Lamore and her husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, IA. His two great granddaughters are Karli and Isabelle "Izzy" McClure. Richard is also survived by a brother, Raymond Kingery and his wife Dorothy of Seymour, MO, and a sister, Ruby Ely and her husband Ray, of Hartville, MO. Others who preceded Richard in death are a brother, Robert Kingery, and a sister, Roma Brown. Richard was cremated and a service and burial will be held at a later date for him and Norma at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hartville, MO. Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, is in charge of the arrangements.
