She was born in Peoria, Illinois to David Oscar Horn and Ruby Mae Hoffmire. She was 1 of 5 children. She had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. At about the age of 5 her family moved to Pampa, Gray County, Texas. She married Virgil Lee Scott about 1938 and they have 5 children (Lou Ann Scott-Harris-Wooley Born 1939, Ora Mae Scott-Janczak-Grimes born 1940, Virginia Lee Scott-Hensarling born 1942, Neil Odell Scott born 1944(died 1990 -Find A Grave Memorial# 106721384) and Betty Ruth Scott-Loth born 1948). She and Virgil divorced sometime in the early 50's and Ellen moved to Houston, Harris County, Texas with all her children. She remarried and then divorced a Buck Shirey and then remarried again to a Larry Pierce and stayed married for several years then divorce. She never remarried again. She loved her wrestling and the Houston Astros. She worked as a cashier for One's a meal restraunt for many years until she retired toward the end of the 80's.

She is buried very close to Albert F. Loth, her son in law. Ellen Pierce has no burial stone marker.
