ART E ATKINSON, 90, of 1330 Arthur Ave died of a lung ailment Monday at Hill Haven Medicenter, 233 University Ave.
Services will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Merle Hay Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr Atkinson was born in McCook Co, NE, and lived in Des Moines 56 years. A retired maintenance employee, he was a member of Fort Des Moines Church of the Open Bible.
Survivors include his wife, Tishia; three sons, Kenneth of Des Moines, Art of Springfield, MO, and Richard of Greenville, TX; six daughters, Eva Alexander, Grace Marquis and Bernice Snyder, all of Des Moines, Wrethel Taylor of Chattanooga, TN, Lois Houghton of Wilmington, DE, and Barbara Roberts of Pella; a brother, Gerald, lives in Missouri; 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Fort Des Moines Church of the Open Bible.
