Heart Failure is Cause Attributed to His Sudden Death; Was Widely Known Among Railroad Men of This Section; Dispatcher Here a Son
Martin J. Adams, 55 years old, of Somerset, a supervisor of the Baltimore & Ohio railroad, dropped dead about 9 o'clock this morning in the Baltimore & Ohio ticket agent's office at Johnstown. Mr. Adams left his home yesterday morning apparently in his usual health, and his sudden death came as a great shock to his family and many friends. Heart trouble was pronounced as the cause of his death. The body will be taken to his home at Somerset today and will be brought to Connellsville for interment.
Mr. Adams was in the employ of the Baltimore & Ohio railroad for 40 years and was widely known in railroad ?. He was supervisor for the past 15 years and was one of the most efficient employes of the company. He resided in Connellsville until several years ago, when he was transferred from Rockwood to Somerset.
He was born in Tunnelton, W. Va., and in 1881 was married in Connellsville to Miss Emma Horne who, with the following children survive: Thomas A. Adams, Connellsville; Roy Adams, Somerset; M. J. Adams, and Miss Edna Adams at home; Mrs. Elsie Callaghan, wife of Vincent Callaghan of Lemont, and John Adams of Lemont. He is also survived by three brothers P. J. Adams and Walter Adams of Connellsville, and Michael Adams of Homestead. Mr. Adams was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Connellsville.
