Esther was the oldest of five children born to William John & Emma M. (Nemetz) Blanchard.

On 27 April 1929, Esther Marie married Simon Oliver Grenier at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Manitowoc, WI; she was age 19, he was 21.

A homemaker & mother of two who also worked outside of the home at Carron Nets in Two Rivers, MN; Esther died at age 96.

The following is her obituary; published in the Herald Times Reporter:

"Esther M. Grenier, 96, 2004 Garfield Street, Two Rivers, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 19, 2006, at Shady Lane Nursing Home, Manitowoc.

"Esther was born June 21, 1909, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late William and Emma (Nemetz) Blanchard. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1926. On April 27, 1929, she married Simon O. Grenier at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1978. Esther was employed with several Two Rivers companies for many years, including the Carron Net Company. She was also a member of the Two Rivers Senior Citizens.

"Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law; Lorna Murphy, Green Bay; Gloria and Harold Trainor, Manitowoc; nine grandchildren; Mary and Paul Johnsrud, Barb Trainor, Greg and Coreen Trainor, all of Manitowoc; Gemma and Brian Ulness, Valders; Michael and Cindy Trainor, Manitowoc; Tom and Evelyn Murphy, Mishicot; Kelly Howard, Peggy and Dan Process and Bob and Jeni Murphy, all of Green Bay; twenty five great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister Mabel Haas, Shawano; one brother and sister-in-law Edwin and Doris Blanchard, Shawano; two sisters-in-law, Ida Markus, South Carolina and Laura Hansel, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive including a special friend Tattie Short of Two Rivers.

"Esther was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, William and Marge Blanchard; one sister and three brothers-in-law, Alice and Joe Hutterer, Joe Kirch and Wally Haas; one son-in-law, Robert "Mickey" Murphy, two grandsons, Timmy and Mike Murphy and one granddaughter, Jean Trainor.

"Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at 10:30 a.m at St.Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

"The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at St. Peter the Fisherman, Two Rivers. The Klein and Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the Grenier family with arrangements.

"In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church or Two Rivers Catholic Central. Special thanks to Hospice, Dr. Brian La Liberte, the Aurora Medical Center third floor nursing staff and the wonderful care provided by the Shady Lane personnel.

"Esther loved her family, was an avid reader and a world traveler."
