Marian Field Sanford Boughton of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Watermark at East Hill Woods, Southbury, CT. Born in Danbury on Dec. 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Lena May Quien and Seth Field Sanford. Marian lived in Danbury for many years before moving to Heritage Village and then Watermark at East Hill Woods. A graduate of Danbury High School, she attended Danbury State Teacher's College. She was a member of the Mary Wooster Chapter of the DAR, a member of the United Church of Christ in Southbury and was active in the Red Cross Blood program in both Danbury & Southbury. A gifted artist, Marian had several art shows while a member of the Heritage Village Brush and Pencil Club. She also took oil painting and watercolor lessons at Watermark and was featured in many art shows at Watermark. Some of her paintings are still on display there. She is survived by her son, Eugene S. Boughton and his wife Dale of Pennsylvania, Seth S. Boughton and his wife Susanne of Danbury. Survivors also include her grandchildren Matthew S. Boughton and his
wife Wendy of Wisconsin, Laura B. Schechter and her husband Jay of Danbury, Jennifer B. Kochert of Ohio, and Heather J. Boughton of Danbury. She leaves behind 7 great grandchildren: Samantha and Nicholas Boughton of Wisconsin, Madison Kochert of Ohio, Sarah and Erin Schechter of Danbury and Jonathan and Kayla Griner of Danbury. She also is survived by her brother Seth Sanford and his wife Helen of Danbury, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother William Q. Sanford and her former husband Walter S. Boughton Jr. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2012 at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the Hull Funeral Home from 9:30 AM Saturday until the time of the service at 11:00. Internment will take place in Wooster Cemetery immediately following the service.
