Brandon LeRoy Nelson, age 24 of Tecumseh, Nebraska and formerly of Crofton, Nebraska, died on Sunday, Sept 23, 2012 in a car accident near Pawnee City, Nebraska.

Brandon was born on November 21, 1987 at Osmond, NE to Jerry and Tammy (Hieter) Nelson. He grew up in Crofton and attended school at Crofton Community Schools graduating in 2006. He was involved in wrestling, football, track, FFA and baseball. He played on the 2003 state runner-up football team and qualified for state wrestling his junior and senior years. Throughout high school Brandon worked for Pete Bramschreiber, Jim Boelter, ECI, and Great Plains Communication and was presently employed at CJ Foods in Pawnee City, NE. Brandon married Jill Rears on August 29, 2009 at Pawnee City and they were blessed with 4 children, Brady, Ashton, Madison and Robbie. Brandon was a member of the Tecumseh Volunteer Fire Department and coached little kid wrestling for Johnson County Schools. He loved Nebraska football and NASCAR racing and was able to attend his first NASCAR race in Kansas on April 22, 2012 with his wife Jill and his dad, Jerry. He also attended a Nebraska football game with his sister, Laura. Brandon loved hunting, fishing, camping and playing video games with his friends. His biggest pastime was following his brothers with their sports and giving brotherly advice to his sisters. But most of all Brandon loved spending time with his children and family.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Jill and his 4 children, Brady, Ashton, Madison and Robbie all of Tecumseh; parents, Jerry and Marilyn (Sage) Nelson of Crofton and Tammy and Chris Huff of Pierce, NE; 5 siblings, Jordan Nelson of Yankton; Morgan Nelson of Crofton; Laura Huff, Colby Huff and Johnnie Huff all of Pierce; mother-in-law, Kristi Rears of Tecumseh; grandparents, Jim and Delores Nelson of Plainview, Max Hieter of Royal, NE; John and Lila Huff of Randolph and many uncles, especially Uncle Bill Sage, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Hieter, grandparents, George and Beverly Sage, great grandmother, Genevieve Nelson and an aunt, Missy Eckmann.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Nelson, Morgan Nelson, Laura Huff, Colby Huff, Johnnie Huff, Matt Sage, D.J. Sage, Cody LaCroix and Jared Schuster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chance Eckmann, Weston Sage, Greg Plager, John Sage, Mitch Sage, Austin Sage, Katie Sage, Adam Sage, Josh Sage, Megan Sage, Christal Plager, Kelly Schuster, all the other cousins and the Class of 2006.
