Mary Lou Payne, age 90 of Opelika, was born May 2, 1922 in Talladega and passed away September 16, 2012 at Monarch Estates in Auburn. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of a garden club in Opelika.
Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husbands, James Edwin Davis, Sr. and John E. Payne; her two sisters, Nathalee Calloway and Ann Deupree; and her special friend, Pat Patterson.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Davis and his wife Janice, Merry Manley and her husband Gary; five grandchildren, Justin Manley, Brent Manley, Eddie Davis, Kathy Stallard, and John Davis; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Fredericks Funeral Home, with Dr. George Mathison officiating.
Interment will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery.
