David O. Truett, 81, of York, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday at Rest Haven York. He was the husband of the late Rosemary K. (Baker) Truett.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Baumeister, Orcutt and Small Mortuaries Inc., South Queen and Jackson streets, York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
Mr. Truett was born Oct. 12, 1919, in York. He was the son of the late James B. and Jennie L (Gladfelter) Truett.
He was a supervisor for Cole Steel, retiring in 1988 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Industrial Management Club; a life member of West York Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8951; he was a 19M39 graduate of William Penn High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Truett is survived by a daughter, Lynn B. Loucks of York; two grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and a niece and nephew.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas R. Jones, a retired York Hospital Chaplain.
