This Tomb has two bronze markers.

LEFT: The Bronze marker on the tall left headstone has the name of the members of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party who died in the revolt of October 30, 1950 in the town of Utuado. Above their names there is an encircled Calatrava Cross, also known as the Cross Potent, which is shown in the flag of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party:

Heriberto Castro Ríos • Comandante (Commander)
Damian Torres • Pres. Junta (President of the Board)
Julio Colón Feliciano
Agustín Quiñones Mercado
José Antonio González
Antonio Ramos Rosario
Eladio Olivero Albarrán

RIGHT: The inscription on the bronze plaque on the right side of the tomb, appears underneath a Puerto Rican flag. To the best of my abilities I've translated it from it's original Spanish:

On October 30, 1950, the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party, presided by Don Pedro Albizu Campos, carried out an armed insurrection with the object of seizing political power and proclaim the Republic. Utuado was one of the municipalities in which was actually fought. Martyrs of our cause sacrificed their lives here for the sake of our independence. Some died in the revolutionary action, others were murdered vilely by the Police and the National Guard after they had already been arrested and handcuffed.

Don Pedro Albizu Campos has said: "The people endure in the glory of their illustrious dead."

This monument pays tribute of valuation and gratitud to these illustrious dead from Utuado, paradigms of the revolutionary struggle which we will continue fighting until we overcome.

Glory be to the heroes and martyrs of our struggle for the independence of Puerto Rico.
