Donald F. Allen, 91, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at home with family. He was born July 7, 1921 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Charles and Irma Allen. His life's passion was his family and friends. He was a WWII Veteran USN, the first person to retire from Chardon Laboratories, life member of the Gahanna Lions Club, a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and the Humbolt Lodge. He is survived by one brother, Robert (Jeanine) Allen, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Allen; three daughters, Linda (Dan) Gease, Dianna (Richard) Martin, and Lisa (Dwight) Shrigley; ex-wife, Bertha Allen; six grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Gease, Greg (Nicole) Gease, Tommy Martin, Tara (Mike) Leonard, Jennifer Bunner, and Heather Pestel; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Megan Leonard, and Gavin Bunner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles "Schooner" Allen. Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where the funeral will be held Saturday, September 29 at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
