Janet R. Derenne, age 84, of 1717 Crystal Spring Rd., Two Rivers, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at her residence, with family at her side.
Janet was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Edward and Emily (Cherney) Janda. She attended school in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee County. On Nov.22, 1947, she married Alvin R. Derenne in Norman, WI. Janet was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. for many years until retiring in 1991. Janet and Alvin loved traveling; she also enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting; and was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin; five children: Carol (John) Thomas, Two Rivers, Jerry (Cindy) Derenne, Janesville, Patti (Tony) Niemojuski, Mishicot, David (Cindy) Derenne, Madison, and Mike (Nancy) Derenne, Two Rivers; twelve grandchildren, Shawn (Tess) Thomas, Alison (Jason) Dozark, Jennifer (Jason) Kelley, Jessica (Anthony) Wiks, Mandy Niemojuski & special friend, Alvie Bare, Nicole (Paul) Braun, Michelle (Travis) Close, Matthew Derenne & special friend, Marty Feller, Zachary Derenne, Bailey Derenne, Jennifer Haasl & friend, Philip Holloway, and Stephanie (Mario) Palacios; four great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother & two sisters-in-law, Daniel (Katie) Janda, Manitowoc, Virgina Janda, Bellevue, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and David Janda.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
