Darrell William Brooker, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:45 AM on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Westridge Health Care Center. He was born in Parke County, IN on April 18, 1917 to Ralph Brooker and Nellie Akers Brooker. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Holliday Brooker on December 3, 2002, and was also preceded in death by his son; Billy Joe Brooker, a grandson; Todd Brooker, a son-in-law; David Moore, and a brother; Robert Brooker. He is survived by three daughters; Martha Webster (and husband Jack) of Dallas GA., Marlene Trotzke (and husband Phillip) of Terre Haute, and Marylou Moore (and her companion James Timms) of Terre Haute. Also surviving is one sister; Madonna Jacks of Rockville, IN—with whom he shared the same birth date, but six years apart, and never missed a birthday meal together. Other survivors include his grandchildren; Cody Smith, Jana Clift, Julie McDonald, Jonathan Moore, Jocelyn Moore, Kathy Huber, Melissa Postell, Michael Trotzke, Jennifer Clift, Alex Clift, and Nicholas Clift; and great grandchildren; Brooke Fredricks, Keaton Postell, Kayla Postell, Kaylee McDonald, Gavin McDonald, Issac Moore, and Brandon Huber, and also three great great grandchildren. He retired from Stran Steel in 1979 and was a member of Terre Haute Friends Church. Funeral Services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr., on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. David Lowe and Rev. Joe Enyart officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
