George was born in Buffalo New York to John Bradley Greene, a prominent New York attorney and Nancy (Shaw) Greene of the Shaw family of Dayton (per Oakwood historical society research). George attended Yale University where he was a member of the Colony Club and married Daisy Talbott on 10/19/10 which produced 4 children - John Bradley, Harry, George Jr. (B 7/12/20 & D 7/28/02 in Philadelphia/Roxborough)and Daisy Talbott Greene II. George was a founding partner of the investment firm of Brien, Greene & Co. The firm held a seat on the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade and brokered grain and securities. George joined the Chicago Board of Trade in 1914. George and Daisy lived in the Oakwood suburb of Dayton residing very near to Daisy's parents, her sister Lillian and brother Bud and were members of the Presbyterian Church and Dayton Country Club.
George died unexpectedly of an embolism while his wife Daisy was visiting their son, John Bradley Green, at Yale.
