Carrie Rummel, 90, formerly of 114 S. Shaver St., Mount Union, died Monday morning, July 3, 1989, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia.
The daughter of William W. and Ella (Bollinger) Wilson, she was born November 22, 1898, in Germany Valley, Shirley Township. She was united in marriage with Jay Rummel, who preceded her in death.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Wilson, and a sister, Florence Wilson.
Mrs. Rummel was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. A graduate of Mount Union High School, Class of 1917, she had worked in the Pennsylvania Railroad freight station in Mount Union for a number of years and was also a longtime bookkeeper for Saxe's Department Store, Mount Union.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott McKenzie officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
