Sr. Agnes Clare Cofer, age 90, a Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday August 27, 1999, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday August 30, 1999, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem. Burial will be at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Mary Louise Cofer, January 11, 1909, in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Edward and Clare Malloy Cofer. Sr. Agnes Clare earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Norbert College, De Pere. She entered the Convent in 1924 and professed her vows in 1927. St. Agnes Clare served as an elementary teacher and/or principal at St. Augustine, Chilton, St. Anthony, Oconto Falls, St. Patrick, Maple Grove, St. Therese, Appleton, St. Joseph, Green Bay, St. Mary, Waukesha, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; St. Benedict, Cambridge, St. Mary, Delaware, St. Agnes, Mingo Junction, Ohio, St. John, Wellsburg, W. Va. and St. Theresa Kekaha, Hawaii. She retired to St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc, in 1988 and has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse since 1992.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday (TONIGHT) at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
