Vivian L. Anderson, 71, of Pleasant Hill, IL, died at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was a homemaker and had worked for various local businesses. In her children's earlier years, she was actively involved as a 4-H, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She and her family served as host family for several international students. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling to visit her children and grandchildren, and camping.

Vivian was the daughter of the late Marion Abbott and Minnie Mae McGlauchlen Howland. She married Charles LeRoy Anderson May 1, 1954 in Hernando, Miss., and he died Sept. 11, 1995.

Survivors are:

a son, Eric of Pleasant Hill; three daughters, Laura of Chicago, Collins of Chicago, Katrina of Albuquerque, NM and Kristin of Yukon, OK; a brother, Gerald of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren; a special friend and companion, John, of Pleasant Hill.

She was preceded in death by a son, Howard Kim Anderson.

Visitation and funeral was held at Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with Rev. Wilson Ramsey officiating.
