Venora Sue Alexander, 83, of Rayville, MO, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Sue was born on Dec. 16, 1928 in Rayville to Clay and Reba (Crowley) Adams.
She married Arthur E. ''Gene'' Alexander of Eldorado Springs, MO, on June 30, 1946; he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2010.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Gary West of Independence, MO, and Kathie and Dan
Paige of Festus, MO; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lynch, Alex West and his wife, Pam, Adam Paige and Kaitlynn Paige; three great-grandchildren, Donovan Paige, Annali and Tyler West; and one sister and her husband, Linda and Don Heese of Pleasant Valley, MO.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Adams.
Sue was a secretary for Sears Credit Department for 25 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church and the Ray County Historical Society. She had lived in Independence, MO, most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 from 7-8 p.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church.
Burial will be in the Old New Cemetery near Wood eights, MO.
