Information pulled from his obituary from Gray Eagle Gazette July 27, 1939:

Born at Waseca, WI, April 8, 1876 and came to Minnesota with his parents in 1882 at the age of six. Passed away on July 22, 1939 at Mercy Hospital in Gary, Indiana, where he had been a patient for a few weeks including having a surgery.

He had been in Gary, Indiana since last November making his home with his son, Ferm Dicks. He had suffered with kidney trouble for many years.

He was united in marriage in June 1910, to Miss Lillie Shobart and had two children with her: Ferm Dicks of Gary, Indiana, and Juanita (Mrs. Henry) Hesselgrave of Minneapolis. He also had another son by a former marriage: Harry Dicks of Seattle, Washington.
