SAN ANGELO Clemit Neal Cathey, 53, a former Midland resident, passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the funeral home, located at 8009 Hwy 87 North in San Angelo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Services will be conducted by one of Clem's childhood friends, Robby Barrett of Amarillo, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek. Clem was born on March 21, 1959, in Midland, Texas to Doyle and Adelle Cathey. He was the youngest of four siblings. He graduated from Midland High School in May 1977. As a student, he was active in Midland 4-H clubs and was a member of the 4-H Mounted Horse Drill Team. He had a passion for horses, dogs and music. He worked with Tradewind Sound, San Angelo as a stage and lighting tech. Clem is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Lloyd and Lila Cathey and Charlie and Maggie Connaway; and older brother Charles Loyd Cathey.
