Mrs. Alice M. Lutz, 75, of Louisa, passed away at her home early Monday morning after an illness of some time that had recently been serious. She was the widow of Harry B. Lutz and had long been a resident of the county.
Mrs. Lutz was born in Columbus, O, Nov. 5, 1868 and came to Iowa with her parents when she was about seven years of age. The family located east of of Cedar Rapids and following her marriage to Harry B. Lutz when she was 19 the couple moved to Louisa where she had resided since. Mrs. Lutz was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church of Cedar Rapids, in which she was active until her health failed.
Her husband preceded her in death in November, 1929, and she is survived by four children: Mrs. Maude Markert, Harry R. Lutz, of Louisa; Mrs. Edith Stamy, near Robbins, and Fred N. Lutz of Meden, Sumatra, where he is with the Goodyear Rubber company. She also leaves six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Will Davis, Bertrum; Mrs. I. L Mitchell, Atascadero, Calif.; Elme. Davis Marlon; Herbert Davis, near Brown's Valley Minn., Mrs. Elsie Thompson of Rippey, and Oscar L Davis Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were held in the Turner chapel at 2 p.m on Wednesday. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery.
