March 27, 1917 March 26, 2001 Louis Baumfalk, a code enforcement worker with the city of Pleasant Hill for two years, died in Pleasant Hill. He was 83. The native of Ludell, Kan., was a Contra Costa County resident for 48 years. He was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge and enjoyed woodworking, knitting and crochet. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florita Jean; daughter, Alice Marie Baumfalk of Pleasant Hill; son, William Arthur Baumfalk of Escondido; sisters, Dorthy Mable White of Wyoming and Luisa White of Colorado; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services: Visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Oakmont Mortuary in Lafayette. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette.
