Hagerstown, Aug. 13 – Mrs. MARY GARRETT, 53, widow of Dr. E.M. Garrett, collided with a machine carrying six members of the New Windsor Band returning from a picnic. The accident occurred at Lappans Cross, about eight miles south of here, while Mrs. Garrett and her son were driving from Hagerstown to Sharpsburg to visit her sister, Mrs. Catherine Adams.
Edwin Garrett suffered an injured arm, but none of the band members were hurt. The Garrett car overturned once after the collision.
Mrs. Garrett formerly lived in Sharpsburg, but had resided in Washington (Park Road) since the death of her husband. One son and two daughters survive.
