Kara gave me my Sadie Cat for my birthday in 1995. I was so scared when I first got her. She was only five weeks old and very tiny. I was so afraid of hurting her in some way. I was also so upset that the people let my daughter take her when she was so young and even upset with Kara that she took such a little baby.

My Sadie loved me and my mother. She did her best to tolerate others. Some people referred to her as that demon cat or as the cat from hell. That was because when they would pet her she was likely to roll up around their hand with a great deal of displeasure. Some of the younger members of my family had a great deal of fun encouraging people who did not know Sadie to pet her. She wouldn't actually hurt anyone, but it was quite startling. But with my mother and myself, she was just sweet.

Sadie explained the house rules to my dogs and they never questioned her authority. They developed friendships and got along quite handsomely. She ruled the place and felt quite royal.

When my grandson came to live with me, he scared her quite badly by tripping over her. She then started sitting under the table waiting for him to pass by and would attack him. He was only six years old. I gave her tranquilizers and she still attacked him. I locked her in the bathroom and she still attacked him. I finally sat down with her and told her that it appeared to two of them were not going to be able to live in the same house and unfortunately, it would not be the boy that would have to leave. After that, she behaved herself and did not ever attack him again.

When we moved into our new house, my son moved into my old house. There was a lot of moving going on and we were also busy with work. I also was a little worried about taking her to the new house. So I was not in a hurry to take her. He had also taken him to his apartment to spend a weekend, so she knew them quite well. But it was only a couple of day when my son called and told me to COME AND GET THIS CAT. When I got to the house, I easily understood why they wanted me to get her. When they walked in the room, she puffed up in classic cat fashion and I didn't know if they would be safe. I took her home and she was very happy in our new house.

She was a beautiful loyal cat. When she started showing that she felt bad, I took her to the vet and she had quite advanced cancer. She is a special cat in many ways.
