Joyce Estella Alswager, age 94, of W4181 Alswager Lane, Peshtigo, passed away January 2, 2012. Born on August 2, 1917 in Oconto to Albert and Stella (Mayou) Archambault.
The family moved to Peshtigo in 1924 to operate the Peshtigo Telephone Office. At a young age, she worked with her dad as an operator for the phone company. On June 24, 1940, she married Amos Alswager and moved to the family farm in Town of Grover, they raised 3 daughters and 5 foster children. ....
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Marian Alswager (Nick Prickel) of Harrison, Ohio; Estella Boehm of Peshtigo, WI; her foster children, Ann (Dave) Mech of Peshtigo, WI; Christine Kemke of Indianapolis, IN; Tony (Joni) Vertz of Sturgeon Bay, WI; Marie (Rick) MacFarland of Wausau, WI and Lynn Hermes of Sturgeon Bay, WI; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. One brother Patrick (Rosemary) Archambault of Marinette, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Amos, a daughter Joyce, 3 brothers Albert Jr., Clement and Lloyd Archambault and 1 great-granddaughter. Burial at Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo, WI.
