BARTON, JR., PATRICK JOSEPH, 72, of Absecon, died peacefully at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on January 11, 2001. Pat was born and raised in Atlantic City . He graduated from Our Lady Star of the Sea School in 1942 and Holy Spirit H.S. in 1946. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 48. He lived in Atlantic City until 1995 when he married his beloved wife, Noreen Theresa
(Brett) Duffy- Barton , and moved to Absecon.
He is survived by his wife Noreen and his sister Theresa Barton of Northfield. He is also survived by his step sons, Tom, John and Joe Duffy; his step daughters-in-law, Kelly Duffy, Tammy Lusk and Sprightly Ryan; his step grandchildren, Brett, Clara and Sean Duffy; his cousins, Winnie Zimmerman & Maggie Friel of Cleveland, OH, Sister Kate Navin of Columbus, OH, Kathleen & Maurice Hand & Pat Covert of West Palm Beach, FL and John Hagerty of Donegal, Ireland. He is also survived by many friends, especially the Catholic A.C. Group, the members of Teamsters Local 331 and the First Union Bank couriers.

He worked for Schmidt's Brewing Co. for over 30 years and then South Jersey and Kramer Beverage. He was an avid sports fan of the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. He also enjoyed Notre Dame and Holy Spirit Football.

There will be visiting hours from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church on Tuesday, January 16 and also from 9:30 to 10 a.m. before 10 a.m. Mass on Wednesday, January 17, also at St. Elizabeth's. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.

In lieu of flowers, friends may send Mass Cards or make donations in Pat's memory to any of the following: American Diabetes Assn., American Heart Assn., St. Nicholas Church in A.C., Star of the Sea Church or Holy Spirit H.S.
