Sonny was a graduate of Lacassine High School. He served in the National Guard for 2 years and was active duty for 20 years for the US Army, where he was a drill sergeant for 6 years at Fort Polk and served 14 years as a supply sergeant. Upon retirement in 1989, Sonny worked at Joseph's Electric for 17 years.
Sonny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the great outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years,a daughter,a son,a step-son, and a step-daughter, 3 sisters, 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Libby Ardoin and son, Phillip Ardoin.
Services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
