Irene Gretchen Nokleby Irene (Matze) Fette, Nokleby, 99, passed away January 26, 2012. She was born in Spokane, WA. March 18, 1912 to Jack and Queen Matze. As a child, they moved to Tacoma where she met and fell in love wiyh Joseph Fette. After raising 4 daughters. Irene followed her dream and became an LPN. Soon after her graduation. Joe suddenly passed away. Her work with new mothers at Tacoma General Hosptial, along with her love of family, was her saving grace. A few years later, she was introduced to Clark Nokleby, her son-in-law's uncle. They married in 1970 and spent the next few years traveling the world. Clark passed away in 1882. Her deep faith and giving, loving nature sustained her in her later years. She is survived by her sister Inez Weir-VanAntwerp. Tacoma,WA 4 daughters, Anna (John decesased) Gannon, Tacoma, WA, Patricia (Cal) Whiting. Sun City West, AZ, Linda(Ron) Nokelby, Sun City West, AZ. and Mary Jo Kirschenman, Tacoma, WA, 10 grand children, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their sincere gradtitude and deep appreciation to Heartwood Extened Care and Franciscan Hospice. A rosary will be held at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, 9903 24th Ave E. Tacoma (Midland), WA 98445 on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:00 am, with Funeral Mass at 10:30, and reception following at the parish hall.
